Health & Wellbeing
Our approach is grounded in a clear understanding of the link between access to nature and improved health outcomes. We design landscapes that support physical health, mental wellbeing and social connection through high-quality, inclusive and accessible open space. Green and blue infrastructure is carefully integrated to encourage movement, reduce stress and promote everyday wellbeing. Sensory planting, seasonal interest and clear spatial design support comfort, orientation and restorative experience for people of all ages and abilities.
Community engagement and co-design are central to our process, ensuring spaces reflect local needs, support social inclusion and respond to cultural context. Interpretation and storytelling deepen connection to place, while habitat creation is embedded throughout, creating ‘homes for nature’ alongside spaces for people.
At West Middlesex Hospital, this approach shaped the transformation of courtyard spaces into therapeutic landscapes, supporting calm, movement and restoration for patients, staff and visitors.
