A Four-Day Week for a More Balanced Way of Working

A Four-Day Week for a More Balanced Way of Working

We’ve taken an important step as a practice, moving to a four-day working week across the studio.

Following a six-month trial, we’ve transitioned to a 32-hour week with no reduction in pay, becoming a Gold Standard accredited employer through the 4 Day Week Foundation.  For us, this change is about creating a more balanced and sustainable way of working for everyone. It brings a sense of fairness and structure across the whole team, recognising commitment and rewarding the care, energy and dedication that each person brings to the practice. As a small studio, it was important that this worked in reality, not just in principle. We’ve maintained a consistent studio presence, with at least half the team in at all times, while continuing to deliver high-quality work, support our clients and grow as a practice. At the same time, it creates more space for rest, focus and life outside the studio. This  reflects a wider commitment to how we run our business, placing people, wellbeing and long-term resilience at the centre of our decisions.
